Timber screen doors for Tasmania

Keep the interstate quote and local fitting brief together

Tasmanian customers can order a standard timber screen-door design or ask about a custom matching project through the Bayswater, Victoria workshop. Include the delivery postcode and quantity so freight can be confirmed for the actual destination. Hobart, Launceston and north-west coast enquiries are welcomed, but this page does not represent a Tasmanian branch, installer or local-stock promise.

Before requesting a door, record whether your measurements describe the reveal opening or a finished door. An existing leaf may already have been trimmed, so a measurement copied from it is not automatically the correct new specification. Photograph the head, sides and threshold as well as the old door. Your installer can help determine clearances and hardware needs before the manufacturing size is agreed.

For an older home where the entrance detail is worth retaining, show the workshop the parts that give the door its character. A complete front-on reference and close-ups are more useful than a cropped decorative fragment alone. Keep those references with the size schedule when comparing a standard design with a custom reproduction. Screening and hardware remain separate choices: standard beading is included, wire mesh is not.
